Bread or Pizza Dough

I had just shared this dough recipe for the umpteenth time, just never counted how many I have given this one out to, but she recommended that I blog about it. I tend to do more on my web pages but maybe this part can be other than my crafting with yarn. My dad gave me the recipe, not sure where he found it but so far this is the best pizza or even bread dough, and simple to make.

Bread or Pizza Dough
  • 14 ounces warm water (100 to 110 degrees)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 5 cups flour
  • dash of salt
 Mix sugar and water good.
Sprinkle yeast on top and allow it to go to the bottom.
Stir gently if needed. Let stay until it foams about 1 inch or more.
Mix flour, salt with the water and knead.
Let it rise in oven for 1 hour.
(we would turn the oven on to the lowest temperature and once it shut off, we turned off the oven dial as well. Then used that to let the dough rise)
Punch down and Knead again, put into container and let rise 1 hour more.
Bread ~ Bake 400 degrees 1/2 hour on lower rack
Pizza ~ Bake 450 degrees 10 to 15 minutes
